Meet Our Executive Director

December 21, 2016
  • Friends,

It is a tremendous honor to serve as the new Executive Director at the Rotary Youth Club. What an exciting time – with new programs underway that reflect the commitment and dreams of those who’ve been part of this club from the start.

I bring 30 years of experience in education as a teacher, counselor and principal. My work as an author brought me to Fairhope two years ago, living in the Writer’s Cottage and completing my most recent book: Life Lessons for Little Learners: Beginning Steps toward Academic Success. The book and workbook today are used in various schools and organizations. My passion is to enhance children’s lives so they have the skills to go out and conquer the world.

There’s so much potential for this wonderful organization! I would like to introduce our club members to an even wider variety of activities. This is where you can help. As volunteers and mentors you can open children’s minds to new possibilities as you share your own experiences and life lessons. We’re celebrating the brand new classroom wing, but have other needs here on the grounds. The playground equipment and gymnasium are showing their age and we would like to refurbish both.

Donations from our community sponsors and foundations are critical to our program now and where we hope to grow in the future. Thank you to all who give of your dollars or gifts in other ways. Our Holiday Tribute program offers a chance to become a partner on multiple levels from sponsoring a club member for a month or a year. You’ll read more inside about the brand new Pre-K class now allowing us to reach our community’s youngest learners. If you hold the very young near and dear to your heart, feel free to earmark your donation specifically to the Pre-K program.

We never know how today’s lessons will positively influence a child’s future decisions. Our one-time club members who’ve returned as volunteers or even staff reflect that premise.
Thank you for giving these future leaders an opportunity to make the most of their lives.
I look forward to getting to know you! Please feel free to stop by the club for a tour or contact me with any ideas you would like to share. Great things are happening here on Young Street.

    Louise
